Here looking to render LaTeX in webpages? Consider MathJax

Between 2007 and 2025, this site acted as a proxy and cache for servers rendering LaTeX to images and SVG. Even in 2007 purely client-side math rendering existed, and well before 2025 it had become a good approach for most.

If in the past you set up your site to use replacemath.js, you should still see rendered math like $2^{7/12} \approx 1.498 \approx 1.5$, but the script will now use MathJax for SVG output rather than a server-side renderer.

If you're looking to set up math rendering on your site today, I recommend setting up MathJax directly. Here's what MathJax suggests adding to your page to get started:

<script id="MathJax-script" async src="https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/npm/mathjax@4/tex-mml-chtml.js"></script>

Happy publishing!
